140 Harbour Terrace
About the house: -
Landlord/Property Manager: -Quick response, wants tenants to enjoy the flat
Best Thing: -
Worst Thing: -
About the house: Nice and spacious, good backyard, off street car parking
Can get quite damp, some bedrooms get no sun
In a complex with other flats
Landlord/Property Manager: Lovely but lives away so most of your dealings are with his nephew, who is often not very nice to deal with.
Best Thing: Its size and the fact it feels more like a family home than a flat
Worst Thing: The lack of warmth without heating
About the house: bad appliances
Landlord/Property Manager: landlord useless, property manager good
Best Thing: big
Worst Thing: cold
About the house: Decent flat, 11 minute walk to the Commerce building. Generally fairly warm, however bedrooms can get quite chilly, but nothing blankets and a hotty can't fix!
Landlord/Property Manager: Very hard to contact, but the 2IC very good and prompt.
Best Thing: Not being to big and easy to heat.
Worst Thing: Very cold in the shower room
About the house: bed rooms are a decent size, but the rest of the flat/ common areas are really small, so easy to heat, but also sometimes feels to small for 5 people, e.g. only has one toilet.
Landlord/Property Manager: Our land lord is lovely, but is not in Dunedin very often, which means no inspections, however at times it can be difficult to get a hold of him. However he has a family member who comes round and mows the lawns, and sorts out issues, and is very easy to get ahold of.
Best Thing: location
Worst Thing: not enough room for five people at times
About the house: Bathroom can get quite damp, as can the downstairs bedroom. Bit chilly in the winter, but nothing the heat pump couldn't fix. Reasonably quiet area of North Dunedin. Keep windows open as much as possible to let out moisture, overall a decent flat.
Landlord/Property Manager: When we were signing the flat he was very efficient, however as soon as we moved in, he became hard to contact and not as efficient as earlier on in the year. His 2IC was very good however, on call whenever we needed something.
Best Thing: Location
Worst Thing: Dampness
About the house: - two of four rooms get good sun
- small so retains heat well
- in a complex so semi-quiet and away from main roads
Landlord/Property Manager: Landlord lives in Auckland so is hardly ever around. Instead we deal with one of his relatives who acts as his "manager" you could say. He is much easier to get in contact with and is helpful.
Worst Thing: Price
