      About the house: It's really old, but just the right size for heating. Tiny kitchen - but warms the lounge up in winter. Also gets sun on the porch in the afternoons which is nice for an afternoon bevy.


      Landlord/Property Manager: Landlord is really slack! Which is good if you don't want any flat inspections, but took us half a year to get our bond back because he wouldn't return our phone calls!


      Best Thing: Best thing was location!


      Worst Thing: Worst thing was it was pretty run down

      About the house: Small easy to warm, close to uni, new oven. No sun. Leaks, 1 burst pipe, 3 roof leaks. Drafty. Small kitchen, no storage, no microwave.


      Landlord/Property Manager: Old & owns lots of flats, seems overwhelmed, ident sick; makes contacting him (home phone only) hard. Slow & doesn't fix things properly.

      Worst Thing: Needs a lot of maintenance

      About the house: The kitchen and living room heat up quickly and stay warm easily, particularly if you make good use of the curtains. With the kitchen and living room being joined, just cooking dinner heats up the entire area really well. The bathroom/laundry and back bedroom are freezing and drafty - the doors need to be kept closed at all times. Very little kitchen countertop room. One bedroom has no wardrobe. Another room just has shelving and a railing. Windows are not double glazed. Rooms are soundproofed as well as insulated. Rent payments are paid monthly in 9 installments which means you need to budget well.


      Landlord/Property Manager: He's a chatter who knows how to spin a yarn about the good ol' days - a ten minute conversation turns into an hour. Plan a substantial amount of time for any meetings. Also he doesn't do any flat checks so if you have any problems you need to call him and be prepared for a large phone bill.


      Best Thing: Location, layout


      Worst Thing: Lack of storage, draft through back door

      About the house: Its a pretty good flat. Only a few small complaints- the back door lets out all the heat but luckly there is another door that seperates the lounge from the back door/shower/laundry, The shower is very moldy (should be clean at the begining of the year but moldy by midyear), the complex behind the flat is very loud and two of the rooms are definitly duds. Some of the wiring is a bit dodgy so don't be suprised if a fuse blows.


      Landlord/Property Manager: He talks. A lot. BUT he is lovely! Deals with things as soon as he can. He is very sick and old so has lowered the amount of properties he is dealing with. I wouldn't be suprised if the house changes hands next year. He has fixed ALL of our issues within 2 days! Most within a day.

      Worst Thing: No counter space/storage in kitchen
